A few things you might be wondering.

What is free, and what does Pro add?
Writing your journal, auto pages, iCloud sync, tapping devices together and joining shared journals are free. Free users can also send 20 letters (writing back doesn’t count) with up to 6 photos each, start up to two shared journals, make 3 journal videos and make 50 new keep or queue decisions a day; one eligible completed share adds 25 that day. Pro is a one-time purchase for iPhone and iPad. For the journal: every paper, sticker set, ink and lettering style, unlimited videos, whole books as PDF and sharing without the PicLoom mark. For letters: unlimited letters, letters that keep and wait, 12 photos in each, unlimited shared journals and the Pro stamp. For reviewing: no daily limit and trip albums in one tap. Plus exclusive themes, app icons and the Pro identity badge. Pearl and Blue are free themes. Future optional services may be sold separately.
Is there a Mac version?
Yes. PicLoom for Mac is on the Mac App Store and needs macOS 14 or later. It opens the same journal through iCloud, and adds the Big Clean-Up for your whole library, Discover to search by what's in a photo, and Archive to move old originals to your own drive.
I bought Pro on iPhone. Do I pay again on Mac?
Pro on Mac is a separate one-time purchase: US$14.99 if you bought Pro on iPhone yourself, US$24.99 otherwise. Choose Restore Purchases on the Mac so it recognises you. If you buy Pro on Mac first, Pro on iPhone and iPad is then US$4.99. The App Store shows the final price for your region.
Can I review videos and Live Photos too?
Yes. Photos, videos and Live Photos all enter the review flow. Play a video, or hold a Live Photo in the viewer, before choosing to keep or queue it. A Live Photo remains one item, not two review decisions.
Can PicLoom find duplicates, blurry photos or screenshots?
Yes. Tap Recent again on the Review screen to pick a pile: Photos, Screenshots, Videos, Live Photos, Blurry or Duplicates. Duplicates groups identical copies and similar burst shots, suggests one to keep and never preselects favorites. Photos you set aside go to To Delete and count like a swipe; you can change them until you confirm, and iOS asks before anything is removed. The checks run on your iPhone, from thumbnails already on the device, and nothing is uploaded.
Does swiping left delete a photo immediately?
No. It only adds the item to the deletion queue. Undo your latest choice, or revise choices in review history. iOS asks for confirmation before deletion. Recently Deleted normally keeps items for up to 30 days; follow the date shown by the system. Measured size removed is not the same as instantly available storage.
What does Think again do?
When you can't decide, swipe the photo up into the thought bubble. It stays in your library and waits in Think again, which appears in the Recent menu when it has photos; open it whenever you're ready. Now and then one of these photos comes back in a batch, marked Last time unsure. Choosing Think again counts as one review.
Are photos uploaded to sort them into piles?
No. Recommended and What's inside are worked out on your iPhone from small thumbnails. When PicLoom is unsure, the card asks, for example Is this a cat?, and your answer stays on this device. You can always just swipe.
Can I sort photos into albums?
Yes. Swipe a photo up to keep it and add it to an album; albums fan out above the card, and you can pin up to 3 you use most. This is free, and each swipe up counts as one keep. With Pro, a whole trip from the Footprints map can be saved as an album in one tap. Albums live in the iOS Photos app: PicLoom only adds photos, and never removes, edits or uploads them.
Does PicLoom write my journal for me?
Only as much as you want. On days worth keeping (a trip, a new city, a holiday, a birthday or an activity milestone) PicLoom lays out a page from that day’s photos and leaves it for you to keep, edit or skip. Photos are not uploaded.
Does a journal entry need AI or a photo?
Neither is required. Write about today or any past day on the paper page; words alone make a page. Photos, stickers, tape, drawing and the day’s Apple Health activity are optional, and unfinished pages stay as drafts. Your words are your own and are never sent to an AI.
Which languages and devices are supported?
The app and widgets support English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and Spanish. iPhone requires iOS 17 or later. Mac requires macOS 14 or later. Activity phrases and cards use the journal language set in Settings → Journal; your words are never translated.
How do I restore Pro?
Use the App Store account you purchased with and choose Restore Purchases in Settings or Pro. Apple’s actual configuration determines price, availability, Family Sharing and refunds.
How much is Pro?
Pro is a one-time in-app purchase of US$14.99. The App Store shows the exact price, currency and availability for your region; it is not a subscription. One purchase covers your iPhone and iPad.
What counts as an eligible share?
Complete a share to a supported destination from review results or the daily allowance screen to receive 25 extra reviews for the day, once a day. Cancelling, copying, saving, printing or an unconfirmed share earns no bonus. Ordinary recommendations and Pro identity badge shares do not earn the daily bonus.
What are invitation rewards and gifts?
When the relevant service is available, an invitation confirmed in the app gives the inviter 200 extra reviews that accumulate and do not expire. Opening or forwarding a link does not earn a reward. Review-credit gifts are accepted separately at their stated amount and do not unlock Pro. Check the app for availability and the applicable rules.
Are journal videos free?
Sharing pages, recaps and long images is always free. Free users can make 3 journal videos; each page or recap counts once, so remaking it or changing the music does not use another. Pro makes videos unlimited.
How do letters and shared journals count?
Free users can send 20 letters in total. Writing back to a letter you got doesn’t count, and neither does writing to yourself, which stays on your device as a journal page. A free letter carries up to 6 photos, keeps for 7 or 60 days and can be set to open up to a month later; with Pro it carries 12, can keep with no time limit and can open further ahead. Tapping devices together and joining someone’s shared journal are always free; you can start up to two shared journals yourself, and Pro removes that limit.

Free to download with a daily free quota; Pro is a one-time in-app purchase of US$14.99, and the App Store shows the final price and availability for your region.
